Michael has been a cast member and writer for Ten Network’s popular sketch comedy series skitHOUSE, been seen on Rove Live (Ten Network), Spicks & Specks (ABC TV), Stand Up (ABC TV), had a weekly comedy segment on Today (Nine Network) and, best of all, made Bert laugh on Good Morning Australia (Ten Network).
2008 brought with it a new TV show, with Michael creating The Mansion, a fictional news show for The Comedy Channel, with fellow comedian Charlie Pickering.
In 2007, Michael returned to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival with his show Buddha, Bluey & Me and also performed at The Comedy Store in Sydney, Sit Down Comedy Club in Brisbane, Rhino Room in Adelaide, and Comedy Lounge in Perth, as well as regularly in the comedy clubs of Melbourne.
Handy with a pen, Michael had a busy year of writing too, as a core writer for both Rove and Before the Game on Network Ten.
Kicking off his stand up career in 2000, Michael started cult comedy room Stagetime in Melbourne with friend and follow comic Charlie Pickering. In the following year, Michael made the grand final of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s national competition Raw Comedy.
Michael wrote & performed Boiling Point with Charlie Pickering, which enjoyed a sell out season at the Adelaide Fringe in 2002 and took out the comedian’s choice ‘Piece of Wood Award’ at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in the same year. Michael & Charlie joined forces again in 2003 to write and perform Boiling Point 2 and shared the bill with Terri Psiakis in Equal Third - both at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Michael’s previous solo shows include Michael Chamberlin and the Ten Commandments and There’s A Party At Stephan Edberg’s Place, performing at the Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, to sell out houses and rave reviews.
